ICASA Director and Ghana AIDS Commission Director-General, pays a courtesy visit to Ghana’s Minister of Health

Today, the ICASA Director, Mr Luc Armand Bodea and Director-General of the Ghana AIDS Commission, Dr Kharmacelle Prosper Akanbong, paid a courtesy visit to Ghana’s Ministry of Health to meet with the newly appointed Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.

The purpose of the meeting was to officially brief the Minister on the upcoming 23rd International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA) and to discuss Ghana’s vital role as the host country.

Also present at the meeting was Mr Héctor Sucilla Pérez, Country Director for UNAIDS.

Organised by the Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA), ICASA is a major biennial bilingual conference that brings together researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, activists, and community leaders to confront the ongoing challenges of HIV/AIDS and STIs across the African continent.

The 23rd edition of ICASA will take place in Accra, Ghana, from 3 to 8 December 2025.
