7TH EXECUTIVE BOARD RETREAT

25 to 26 March 2022, Aqua Safari Resort – Ada, Greater Accra – Ghana

To enhance the activities of SAA and conduct an orientation for the newly elected SAA executive board, SAA organised the first retreat at Aqua Safari Resort from 25th to 26th March 2022 in Ada, Ghana.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Strengthen the effectiveness of SAA’s board by building clarity and understanding of their roles and responsibilities anchored on the core values of SAA from an organisational design perspective.
  2. Enable SAA Board members to strengthen their understanding of the policy, procedures, and processes essential to a well-functioning board.
  3. Deepen and broaden an understanding and perspective of the HIV Epidemic and response in Africa: Achievement, challenges, and the way forward. This will include basic science; epidemiology and prevention; treatment and care; social and political science; and programming and implementation.
  4. Review of the SAA strategic plan 2017 to 2021 and the way forward for the development of the2023-2027 strategic plan
  5. SAA history, board and secretariat management experience sharing from similar event organizer associations.
  6. SAA modus operandi (board management, secretariat management and ICASA Management)
  7. SAA 2022 budget and event schedule planner
  8. Enable the new Board Members to know one another better and initiate a process for building an effective team among the Board Members and with the Secretariat
