SAA signs MoU with ICASA 2021 Host Country, Durban – South Africa
The Society for AIDS in Africa, organizers of the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA) has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with the Government of South Africa to host ICASA 2021 in Durban South Africa, from 6th – 11th December 2021. The signing of the MoU took place on the 30th of August 2021, at the Durban International Conference Centre (Durban ICC).
The signing of the MoU gives the right to South Africa to be the host country of the 21st edition of the prestigious International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa.
The representatives of the Society for AIDS in Africa present at the signing of the MoU were Prof. John Idoko, SAA President, Hon. Dr. David Pagwesese Parirenyatwa, SAA Vice President, Prof. Sheila Tlou, SAA Executive Board Member and Mr. Luc Armand Bodea, ICASA Director/SAA Coordinator.
Representatives from the Host country, Government of South Africa present at the signing of the MoU were Dr. Sandile Buthelezi, Director General of the National Department of Health, Dr. Sandile Tshabalala, Head of Department, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, representing the DG: OTP), Dr. Thembisile Xulu, CEO of South African National AIDS Council (SANAC), Dr. Nonhlanhla Makhanya, DDG-NDoH and Ms. Penny Dladla-Msimango, Acting DDG.
