Position: Programme Manager
The Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA) invites qualified, experienced, and highly motivated professionals to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the position of Programme Manager.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership in the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of SAA programmes and activities, including the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA) and other public health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor SAA programmes and projects.
- Lead the development of programme work plans, budgets, and implementation schedules.
- Coordinate programme activities with partners, governments, development agencies, CSOs, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical and strategic support for ICASA and other SAA initiatives.
- Monitor programme performance, deliverables, indicators, and timelines.
- Prepare high-quality programme reports, concept notes, proposals, and presentations.
- Support resource mobilization and development of funding proposals.
- Identify programme risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Represent SAA at relevant meetings, workshops, conferences, and technical forums.
- Ensure that programme activities are implemented in accordance with SAA policies and donor requirements.
- Set Key Performance Indicators for all programmes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Programme Management, International Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in programme/project management, preferably in HIV/AIDS, public health, infectious diseases, or development programmes.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex programmes involving multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of the African public health and development landscape.
- Experience in donor-funded programmes and reporting.
- Excellent programme planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English and French.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and programme/project management tools.

- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally and internationally as required.

Languages
